transmission mounts
I just recieved a pineapple racing transmission for my 90 NA. I took the old tranny out but the new one is a little different. My old tranny has more reinforcement around the bell housing, but everything else is the same except for the tranny mount. The tranny pineapple sent me looks like it may be from an 86-88 model. The tranny mount from my original transmission will not work due to the way it mounts. Will a mount from an 87 model work on my car? If it won't what is the best way to fabricate a mount?
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 88 'vert and 89+ cars use a different tranny than the majority of the S4 cars, however I was not aware that there was a different mount except in the case of a R type tranny (T2) or an automatic.
Sure you don't have a R-type tranny???, does the bell houseing bolt on, or is it cast as one piece with the main tranny body.

bellhousing
THis is Bottle Jockey i'm using my friends computer to reply. the bell housing is cast as a part of the rest of the tranny. The tranny pineapple sent me has a flat surface with two holes for bolts at each end. On my original tranny it has to flat places with one bolt hole on each side of the tranny, they are at approxametly a 45deg. angle. There is no way to make the old mount work on the tranny pineapple sent me. There is a local junk yard with an 87na, would the mount off of it work? Would the crossmember off of the 87 mount right up to the existing holes in the tranny tunnel of my car.
