CA Transmission Leak

I just bought a 1990 rx7 n/a with a T2 motor swap and 5spd t2 tranny. the only main thing wrong with it is the tranny is leaking. the owner said it's leaking from the top of the transmission. is that an easy fix? does anyone have a diagram of the transmission. I would like to do it myself but if it's to difficult, i'll just take it to lucky 7 or somewhere to get it done.

The only way to really diagnose the leak would be to look at it yourself. Taking the word of the previous owner can be misleading at times.

If it really is leaking from the top, you will have to remove the trans to get to it.

Except for the shifter housing - and it wouldn't leak for long - there isn't anything on top of the transmission that can leak. Your tranny is only ever about half full of gear oil. Jack your car up and look. If you're still not sure about the source of the leak, clean the tranny (pressure washer; engine brite; kitchen scrubby brush and institutional strength degreaser - take your pick) drive it around and then look again.

I very much doubt that anything is leaking from the top of your tranny.

The FSM, which you can find via the FAQ, will show you your tranny innards.
