Question Transmission Issues

I'd like some feedback on what to do about my tranny. I have one out of my car in which all the bearings are shot, and a cheap rebuilt one that I ripped out of a parts car. The rebuilt one whines like crazy in 1st,2nd, 3rd, and 5th, but not so in 4th. The bearings in it are matched, not original. the guy taht rebuilt it, matched the plastic cased bearing to a similar metal cased one i believe. Should I take the shot tranny and rebuild it, or rebuild the rebuilt tranny, in which i know the gears are good?
I don't know much, But i've droped the transmission with my brother before, we took out the old one and put the rebuild in. I just wanted a reccomendation. Also, would it be better for me to take a shot rebuilding the dead tranny thats out of the car or dropping the good one and taking it to a shop to get rebuilt properly while i rebuild my clutch master and slave cylinders?
Any feedback is appreciated.
