Transmission Help ... Rebuild?

Well i was out driving the car a few min. ago and i came up to a stop light... goes green, put it in 1st, let the clutch out, and there is nothing, the car just sits there.. put it in second and it just sits there. 3rd goes 4 goes, 5th goes, reverse works.

apparently i lost 1st and 2nd gear... the car will idle in these gears with the clutch out. When i hit the gate with the shifter it feels empty in 1st and 2nd as opposed to 3rd thru R..

How hard are the transmissions to rebuild?

What can i do to make it stronger?

any other tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Mine too...

Sounds like rebuild time. Mines about to go any day-I get light grinding when decelerating and going into all gears is notchy, but 2nd is by far the worst.

what a pain, i would just find a low mile jspec unit... im out at the moment but you can find one in good condition for around 400$s vs buying parts at bend you over the Fuzda it would be much cheaper. just my thought

key word additional parts, at 395 they must just be fixing what is wrong not a complete overhaul. i might be wrong but that is extreamly cheap

sounds like you broke the 1st/2nd shift fork (they are one fork) or a pin came out of it.
