what other trannies will fit an 86 FC n/a?

 

86-91 na fc transmissions.

TII's fit, but you need to use TII everything else. The OP doesn't appear to want to do that.

 

yea, i already have to buy a bunch of **** just to get her running again i just want something that is going to shift normal. the tranny in my FC now wont downshift into 2nd without being forced

 

swap in miata gears, those gearboxes shift nice

 

yea, i got the turbo II tranny I have for free, i was asking cause i was posting an ad on craigslist for somebody to trade one that'll fit.
but definitely want to do that, i used to work at a mazda dealership and i loved the way the miata's gears felt.

 

True. But, keep in mind the 86-88 tranny mount is different than the 89-91 tranny mount so make sure you get the right mount. Both bolt to the chasis the same but bolt to the tranny differently. The 5th gear also varies slightly in the '86 and also in the 89-91 that came with LSD.
