transmission cooler

any one have a pic of where to put the tanny cooler , i mean tap into the line. i've never installed one , but it doesnt look to hard to install it.

also got a new tranny filter , should i have this installed professionally or can i do all this on my own?

i have 87 N/A automatic.

i purchased 6 Q of B&M Synthethic trick shift tranny fluid. they told me i needed 5.5.

let me know if any one has ran this and where to tap into the tranny line etc..
if anyone has a pic of where to tap into and such as mentioned above , please post them. i would like to save some money and get a knowledge of how to do things myself. dont want to mess things up in the process though.

thanks in long run

Generally you just disconnect the lines to the factory trans cooler (integrated into the radiator) and reconnect them to the new cooler. They'll probably need to be extended a bit to do this. Alternatively you could keep the stock cooler functional and run the new cooler in parallel by using brass hose tees to connect the new cooler's lines into the existng lines.

i have another question. im gonna change my tranny oil soon. i wanted to know if the oil in the gear box (transmission) is the same oil that you put in the gear shift tower. is it all one cavity of is it separate? im guessing that its seperate but just want to make sure.

anyone think this will help increase the power handling and life of the auto tranny? up to this point seems to shift fine ,

figured id change the filter and fluid and all a cooler at the same time.

with the exhaust being done the car seems to run coooler so maybe that will help too.

It's separate. You can't fill from the shifter.
