Trans and rear end fluid change questions
Have a '88 vert with 5 speed. Changed by trans fluid to synthetic, did not notice much of a difference, if anything a bit notchier. Anybody have similiar experiences?
Can't seem to get drain or fill plugs off the rear end, they have a yellow paint outline on each plug. Does this mean they were never changed? Any hints of getting these loose? Tried WD-40 to no avail.

You need pennatraing oil, not a lubricant. PB Blaster and CRC Power Lube (Red Can) are among the best. Soak and then Tap with a small hammer (the vibrations will work the oil into the threads) if not clean and dry off and try heat. Make sure that you are getting GOOD contact on the sides of the nut not just the corners, a long pipe might help along the wrench.

Thanks, tried the PB Blaster I think that did the trick for the rear fill plug. I needed to use a foot long pipe on the drain plug. Actually bent a cheap rachet handle with a short pipe.
