Question trans problems HELP ME!!!!!!!

I recently bought a rx7 its an 87 with a 13b 5speed nothing fancy for 450 bucks, car looks great sounds great inside and out, only one problem- she wont move????? it don't make a difference with clutch to the floor or clutch all the way out this trans. will go into gear but will not move, there is absolutely no noise associated with this problem the car wont even begin to feel like it wants to move, do i have a stuck throw out bearing maybe, has anyone else had this problem, should i just put a new clutch kit and trans in it for the hell of it???? any info please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like you may have no clutch.

take her apart, if the car looks good chances are the transmission is still in good shape, but a clutch kit and get your flywheel resurface while the transmission is off! good buy, u can pick up an oem mazda clutch kit for like 125...

Bleed/change the clutch hydraulic fluid and make sure it isn't leaking. After that make sure the pedal is adjusted properly. This is a lot easier than dissassembly, and should probably be done on your car anyway.

Get someone to get in the car and push the clutch in,while you look at the Clutch in the engine bay(driver's side at the firewall, you should see the Trans, behind the oil filter, roughly) on the Transmission to see if it is engaging.
When they press the pedal you should see the clutch fork move..If not, then it is a Hydraulic issue.
IF the Clutch does move, then it is a transmission issue.
Do what I mentoned First,so it will save you from ripping the trans out of the car, less work.

Wait, how is this a hydraulic issue? The trans appears to go into gear fine but the car doesn't move forward. Unless the hydraulics are stuck in the pressed-in state yet still allowing movement of the pedal. This has to be a blown clutch or I am really missing something.

thank you for clearing things up for me, yes the hydros are working fine i can see the slave pushing the fork witch would lead me to believe that the clutch is bad-------- the only thing that i dont get is how there is no noise, i would think if the disc is completely gone shouldnt there be some type of a metal to metal noise, keep in mind this car has 190k on it, appears to be the original motor and trans.
