The fork should not be able to be moved by hand when the trans is installed. You will have to pul the trans and see what happened.

the fork moving around?
or is it just moving back and forth?
Get another person to look at the slave cylinder when you step down on the clutch and see if it pushes against the fork.

The fork may have popped off its mount. That would cause it to be all wiggly.

is there tension on the slave cylinder when you push the shaft inside the slave.
If the fork did come off, you can usually pop it back into the ball joint without taking the trans off.
