Tranny won't let me go throw gears like they're butter.

I have a an '88 Vert (S4) with 94K mi on it. I bought it with only 45K mi on it. The transmission sucks ***, always has, since day one. I wish son=meone would show me a N/A transmission that actually shifted smoothly with little effort. I've driven three other N/A cars with more and less mileage one of which was a 60K Mi. '90 GTUs. They all shifted, sounded, ground, the same. They all sucked ***. I just thought they were all that way. My friend has an '88 10th AE with on 30K Mi and it shifts like **** too.

My NA shifts pretty well. Its not as good as some other cars I've driven, but other than the 1-2 shift I've never had problems. It shifts a hell of a lot better than my mustang 5.0 though.

that's what happend to me. wait 500 for the MT-90 and it'll be much smoother. i've even heard after you've changed the fluid for the first time on a higher milage tranny that you should change it AGAIN in a month or so.. is this true?
i guess because alot of old, dirty fluid is still in there...
Yes, I am noticing a lot better shifting since I passed the 500 mile mark on the MT-90 (just passed 14000 today). It's getting progressively better, but it could still be better.
