Question Tranny wires

Okay, tranny (n/a s4) died, and I found a replacement. My question is the 2 wires on the pass. side, which by searching i have found to be the reverse light switch, and 2 of the 4 wires on the drivers side which i found by searching to be the neutral safety switch, well what are the other 2 for...? Are any of these wires actually necessary to make the car run? Can I jump the harness wires on the engine side? If so, which color to which color?
Thanks in advance...

You have a reverse light switch, a neutral switch, and a 5th/reverse switch (also known as the over-the-top switch). That help?

Which switch are you planning on cutting out?

5th gear and neutral switches input to the ECU for emissions & driveability...

Reverse light switch- well, you can figure that one out on your own, lol...

Hold on...Jeez...

Tranny side of the wiring:
reverse switch wires are red, with single bullet connectors
5th/rev switch wires are green/black
neutral switch wires are blue

Harness side of the wiring:
reverse switch wires are black/yellow and red/green
5th/rev switch wires are black/blue and black
neutral switch wires are green/black and black

Have a little more patience next time...
