Question Tranny Switch

Yea I Just Wanted To Know If A 88 89 90 Or 91 Tranny Will Work In A 86 Gxl. All 5 Speed Manuals Im Just Making Sure Their All The Same, And If I Rip One Out It'll Fit My Car!!!!!

As long as they are non-turbo the only thing different will be 5th gear, but they will bolt right in.

make sure you have the crossmember with the new tranny because s4 and s5 crossmembers bolt different to the trans but the same to the car. other than that the only difference is pretty much 5th gear (s4's 5th gear is a little bit lower)...

S4 and S5 have nothing to do with 5th gear.

The 86 and 87 had a .711 5th gear and the 88 and later had .697

So series has nothing to do with it.

thx guys now i need to get a tranny, oh yea how do you switch the tranny im still a cherry on this issue....

i need help giving better directions....
you should see what advise i give to make a civic faster...

1. remove air box lid
2. remove stock air cleanrer
3. install new engine
