Tranny swap ??

Hey i'm doing a tII (s5) motor and tranny into an 88 gtu. I read a thread that said the crossmembers on the n/a tranny wouldnt fit. Can someone confirm this ,and can it be made to fit, thanks Corbit . I did try the search.

For one you need a custom drive shaft.

Why did you choose the TII tranny?

you need the S5 tranny cross member and mounts.

as well as LOTS of other stuff....

It would be far easier to do an s4 turbo drivetrain swap in an 88.

I'm going to use my rear end set up, and have a TII drive line redrilled to fit. As far as why i chose the tranny I bought jspec with tranny for $700 (s5) thanks for the input can crossmember be fab to work?

Here are some pics of the cross members. the TII is a beefer cross member! All you need to do is pick up a TII cross member and mounts and your good to go! Well you will need a drive shaft built for it!

Call me mad if you will, but those two cross members look damm near (structually speaking at lesat) Identicle, does the N/A one physically bolt up to the turbo transmition? it looks like it would?

I think the TII S5 & S4 cross members are the same. you might find somebody here that might have on for sale or may you could find one on ebay they got people part'n out 7's all the time!
