if its stuck it sounds like there could be some damage to it perhaps. can you roll the car in gear? does it turn over the engine. try rocking the car back and fourth and see if it will pop out perhaps?

it wont budge upwards like tring to shift to 3rd/ i really need to get this too work or im going t have to junk the 7 / i have no cash for a tranny at the moment/ i just want it to run/ the motor runs awesome/ jsut the tranny is a problem.
A was assuming the tranny is in 2nd and the selector lever is in neutral.
Will the lever move side to side or is it in back in the 2nd gear position?
If so, you probably have a stuck/jammed interlock pin.

My transmission was stuck in reverse. I was able to free it up by removing the tranny and taking out the reverse light sensor thing, then using a flat head screwdriver to pop it back into neutral. If there is some type of sensor or plug for the 1/2 shift rod, then you may be in luck and not have to pull the extension housing off.
In the illustration above, rod #9 is the 1/2 selector.
The #7 bolt on the top left of the picture (top of the tranny) holds the spring & ball that hold it in 2nd gear.
If there is enough clearance, you may be able to reach in there with a small thin screwdriver & push the rod rearwards to neutral.
I expect the tranny will have to come out.

If ur gonna pull the tranny. Its not that difficult. But get a jack i didnt use it to take it out. BUt i did to put it back in. Other wise ur gonna be heaving it down. And holding it on your chest.
