rachets, sockets, and a jack will be just fine for dropping the tranny if you want to replace the pilot bearing you could use a slide hammer/pilot bearing puller but if you have time and lots of patience you could try getting it out by your own means, have fun with that though.

dont quote me, i forget exactly what the sizes were. from what i can think of, a 12mm, 14mm, 15mm, 17mm socket, and of course ratchet. Some penetrating lube as the exhaust will have to come out. also a pair of pliers for the speedo cable removal... hmm. thats all i can think of off the top of my head. maybe also a 10mm for the samller stuff

Search on different ways of getting the pilot bearing out. I've always had bad luck and it's a nightmare with them. I get em out but if I had the pilot bearing puller form mazdatrix I would never have problems.

If you can find a parts store that rents tools, thats the way to go. I rented a pilot bearing puller and slide hammer for $45 bucks and got 100% of it back when I returned it. Of course I ended up not being able to use it cause I accidentaly pushed the outer bearing race further back into the bore and couldnt get behind it. Had to grind the race in half, then use a sharp point cold chisel and hammer to flake pieces off of it for nearly 2 hours. It can be a nightmare but sometimes they come out just fine. Its a luck thing I think

I just rented one from Autozone. It wasn't too expensive, and I got the money back for the slide hammer, but I kept the other part because I kinda modded it to fit into the pilot bearing. Had to grind it a little bit. I am sure I could have returned it and they wouldn't have noticed. It wasn't much off, but just enough so it would fit.

I think you need pretty much 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm. I don't think there are any 19mm but it wouldn't hurt to have one just in case. Maybe a torque wrench too. Breaker bar too, just in case there is a bolt on there really good.
