tranny reasembly question *quick one*

mazda tells me they dont list a bellhousing gasket for my 1988 n/a 5spd
they said that the manufacturer used one thats why i peeled it off, but they suggested just using hitemp goo gasket to make one...


what you guys think, is that gonna be okay?
any specific type?

High temp RTV should be fine, although i think it's going to be a messy job. If the motor isnt out of the car, generally it will tak a few runs to get the transmission to mount up to the engine correctly.

I always use black RTV, it works good.

Definately black RTV... it's the most oil and gas resistant (wish I had used it on my oil pan instead of red RTV), and safe to like 500 degrees.

anaerobic sealant, i use it to totally rebuild trannies.
