i have a 1987 non turbo and my tranny makes tons of noise when its in gear. I checked the fluid thinking maybe it was not being lubricated but it was. Does anyone have any idea why my transmission is making this noise. It is a slight growl, and it does not slip out of gear. It shifts fine, just the noise. Thanks for any input.

 

The synchros could be going. (Not Good). Or it could be normal tranny whine.

 

hm. how could i tell the difference between the two?
