anyone know why my 88 GTU wont allow me to downshift to 2nd? even at low speeds it tends to get "sticky." im hoping it doesnt require a full tranny replacement so im open to any ideas and suggestions. thx for the help.

 

just second gear?....my guess would be the snycros....but before u start ripping crap apart......did u check ur slave and master cylinder?.....does fluid levels change over time?....it could just be leaking somewhere and needs to be replaced

 

put new gear oil

Yeah are you blipping the gas properly? My 2nd gear syncro is dead but when I double-clutch and blip it downshifts like butter.
