Tranny mounts

What tool should i use to cut out the tranny mounts near finished converting from auto to 5 speed. I did make the custom bar rotary resurrection came up with but when started to drive the car it was hiting my 3 inch exhaust. so i rather use the mounts from my donor car.

When I removed mine when I did the same swap, I drilled each one of the spot welds out. It took a lot of time but they fit up under the other car just right.

You can cut the whole chunk out with a chisel and work on it from the bench, but Danshaw is right, you have to drill out the spot welds. If you don't have a sharp spot weld cutter, it's a horrible 3 hours.

You could do that but obviously the carpet needs to be removed... I set mine on fire welding the new mounts in

You have to drill out the spot welds on each of the mounts so it will seperate from the body. So all you have left is the bracket. Then weld the mount onto the hulk of the car. After you finished that, you should be ready for the tranny.
