Tranny makes clunking (metal) sounds

Hey there,

88 vert 5 speed, TII engine swap, n/a everything else.

I just got my clutch changed monday and i now notice that every time i change gear and release the clutch, the tranny makes a clunking (only once) noise like metal hits metal. It does it throughout all gears....

It goes into gear just fine, its just when you let go of the clutch when it does that !

and everytime i let go of the gas completely and put my foot on the gas to accelerate the transmission does a similar "clunk" and shattering sound.

Do you think it has something to do with the clutch or transmission, and if its the transmission, is it going to be a big problem? What about differential?

Does it sound like it comes from the firewall or under/behind you? Sounds like a borken / loose mount

Check your tranny and rear diff mounts. Also check your u-joints for any slop. A clunk is either one most times.
