hey i was cleaning up my tranny today and i saw a bearing connected to a lever (throwout bearing?) my question is should there be any play in it? if not then i would like to change the bearing now while the tranny is down. thanks

some play in the bearing on the shaft is normal, any play in the bearing housing to front face is not and it should be changed, also any roughness in the bearing while spinning means it should be changed.

 

If you already have the tranny down replace it anyway.
