Are you thinking about doing a full T2 swap or just using the tranny on your car? Hows your clutch pedal pressure? The best thing to do is to drop your tranny and see whats going on. Doing a T2 swap or even trying to use a T2 tranny is going to be harder and more expensive than trying to fix your current setup.

to do that I think you'll need the following: TII tranny, driveshaft, diff, clutch w/pressure plate, throw out bearing and the list goes on. All of this would run about $750+ dollars in parts.

If your tranny is indeed bad, you can find an s4 replacement for about $100 or less. Check your clutch to see if thats not the problem. Stock clutch replacements are less than $100. Bad shifter bushings wont make your tranny stick in one gear. Even with the worst bushings Ive seen, selecting gears is still relatively easy. Good luck.

well i wanted to go turbo anyway and if i did i would want to do it the right way.

my shifter bushings are pretty jacked but its been like that the shifter is kind of cocked to the side they are so bad but i bought the car that way. i read on fc3s pro that the pilot bearing could fall apart fusing the engine and tranny together and 750 aint that bad if i could find a donor car that is which will be hard in san antonio, thanks for ur help

I'd check the shifter bushings first. That's the cheapest and easiest fix. If they are worn, you will eventually have problems shifting.

Clutch hydraulics
pilot bearing
throw-out bearing

I would also throw some good synth lube in the trans.

that swap requires, auto counter weights-t11 fly wheel-trannie-drive shaft and t11 diff, not to mention clutch pressure plate and bearing.
