Question trailing coils??

My 89 non turbo tailing coils are going out and a lot of parts left over from an 88 non turbo I use to have. I need to know if I could take the trailing coils off of my 88 and use them on my 89 with out having any problems?? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it would be fine... I think my T coils were bad so I replaced mine with an S4 NAs (I have an S5 TII).... it didn't fix my problem, but it didn't blow up either so I don't know, I would like to know the answer to this too

I thought that my first coils were bad because my check engine light would come on and I would lose an incredible amount of power. Then when I pulled the codes off my ECU it said that it was my trailing coils. I had an extra set of coils from my 88 and I just put it on my car last night and started driving it around and the same damn thing happens. So I'm thinking that it is an electrical problem now. Maybe at the ECU it's self or in the wire harness some were.
