Tragic!
Just bought my first 91 RX7 about a week ago .. first thing that needed fixed was the Crank Shaft Angle Censor ... so I take it in to get fixed it turns out that its just the connector, then I drive it home .. and all of a sudden all my dash lights turn on ... I make it home I wash it and take it to get vacuumed ... sure as **** ... I get to the place and POOF!!!! Fluid starts pouring out on the street weeeeeeeeeee water pump belt busted now it sits at the Sears parking lot waiting for the mechanic to show up tomorrow night, PLZ tell me this doesn’t happen with all Rx-7s....

No, no it doesnt. not in my experience. They break, oh yea, they do break but any older car will. Its a new 7, its gonna give you hell the first couple months you own it. Its kinda like what was said on the cartoon Big O: "Do we choose them, or do they choose us?"
By the way, I've got to warn you, if the water pump belt busted and the water was on the street from it overheating you might need a new motor now. It only takes one good time of over heating one and POOF!!! no more engine.

Well, I've seen the exact thing happen to another car( I was in it). Heard a noise, all the lights came on(dummy lights), all the gauges froze in there current position(due to the alternator not moving), so it looked light everything was fine. Then BOOM, rad exploded and fluid everywhere. Should be no big deal, replace what exploded(rad, hose whatever) and the belt(no airpump then get a duel pulley). Fill the coolant back up. Start up the car, if your puffing white smoke you overheated the engine and need a rebuild. If not you got away lucky, and fill up your fluid again.
