TPS setting
TPS setting
Hi guys
I set my TPS using the 1 K ohms method. Then when I double checked it using the 1V method all the VOM was showing was .5V. So, I reset it to 1V. Then when I checked the ohms the VOM showed 2200 ohms.
Weird. Has anybody run across this before?

It could be due to the condition of the wire as if it is old or in poor shape it will have more resistance and the higher the resistance the less ability for the voltage to pass through so in order to get 1 volt to pass through properly you have to accept more resistance in exchange.
Does not really matter if you do it w/the engine off as long as you do it rather quickly after turning the warmed up engine off because the Thermowax unit will start opening the primary plates as the engine cools down which would make setting the TPS inaccurate.
