tps question

so first off i have a 87 na and the motor took a dump so i bought what i thought was a s4 tii motor to swap in. but after closer inspection i found out it is really a s5 tii. so ive got just about everything figured out except what to do abou the tps. if i buy an s5 tps can i rewire it to work with the s4 wiring harness? or would if be easier t swap throttle bodies? and if so will the s4 na throttle body work?

series four ECU does not have provisions for a Full range TPS input.

Series five TPS have two plungers. The plungers output two signals to the ECU (series five only). One signal is called Narrow Range and the other Full Range.

Actually the real problem is, the series five engine has an electric OMP on it vs the mechanical one on a series four car. The electric OMP requires a series five ECU and two plunger TPS.

You could just ignore the Full Range (the plunger is the last to fully extend when the throttle is move full open) and rig wires just from the Narrow Range part of the TPS to the stock series four wiring.

As for what to do about the electric oil metering pump.................I guess you'll just have to slop oil into the gas tank each time you fill up. Sad state of affairs thing.

yea the plan is to run pre-mix rather than a omp. rather than going thru that with the tps is it possible to just swap tb between series so i can just use the s4 tps? just because atm i do not have a s5 tps but rather a s4 one.

Yes, you can swap an S4 TII throttle body onto the S5 UIM.
