TPS Problems/Questions

I just checked the Throttle Position Sensor on my 87 TII. I checked it going by fc3spro.com's instructions. The at rest restistance was ~2k ohms and at WOT it reads ~10k ohms. When I turned the adjustment screw it had no effect. Does this mean I have a bad sensor or is there anything else that can affect this. Is there any way to verify if it's bad by taking it off the car? I don't know if it matters but my cold start system doesn't work right. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like it's bad to me. You could check the voltage at the ECU, but that'll probably be screwed up too.

If your TPS is a linear sweep from low resistance to high resistance, then you may have other issues.

Just make sure the car is fully warm or you'll get wacky readings.

Can you push the TPS plunger with your fingers and get it to go under 1k-ohm?
