My phone will not allow me to search anything so that is why i am posting this thread. Maybe someone cant post a link for me?

I have an safcII on my s4 and need to read wide range for my tps. Boost sensor trick didnt work for some reason. Can i put an s5 tps on an s4 so my safcII can read wide range throttle?

 

If you can post a thread, you can also use search.. same principle

 

I did search. Maybe im not wording it properly, but i cant find anything on how to get a wide range signal on my safcII through the s4 electronics. Ive tried the boost sensor (brown wire/red stripe) but it showed a stable 33.8%, didnt change with throttle response.

 

Did you use the turbo Emission harness or the Na harness. I ask for a second time because the turbo one does not match up wire to wire w/the NA one such that there are changes which need to be made. The Boost sensor would not work right and the temp gauge among other things would not work as well.

 

N/a harness. Plug and play.

 

Idea: use the s5 throttle body,because it uses a cam for the tps.
take the Tps and cut the 3 wires on the wide range to accept the S4 connector.,
Plug in and see what ya got.Should be what you are going for.

 

So i would just use the wide range part of the s5 tps and it will read from 0-100% with true throttle response? The other part of it isnt used? I do have the s5 tb on it now.

 

the TPS units are the same resistance .. wire colours and plug changes .. and its the cam that works on them that determines if narrow or full range

just swap them around on the clip around the belly and rewire the plug accordingly

I guess what ill do is put the s5 tps back on the s5 tb and make sure the cams work properly, then wire it in accordingly. If it works, then ill post a how to thread about it since there are no straight forward answers.
