tps ajustment

today i tried to adjust my tps sensor on my 88 gxl na, with the lights and its not responding no matter which way i turn the screw, and yea the key is on the the inital copler is jumped, i adjusted it before and it worked, but after i removed all the emissions it wont adjust. im thinking the sensor is bad. i dont want to buy another one, their too expensive. Can i just disconnect it or do i have to fix it.

ps. all of my emissions are off, vaccum lines replaced, car runs , but kind of a shakey idle

Thanks steve

Try testing the sensor with a DMM. For some reason I couldn't get the test lamp method to work either.

Your TPS is shot if it will not go into voltage range.

Try just adjusting the a/f mixture screw on the top of the dynamic chamber.

Also retarding timing helps. make sure you jumper while changing timing.
