It is possible the TPS is bad. Pull it off the car and check it with an analog ohmmeter or scope to make sure it runs smoothly through the whole range.

Turns out the omp is cracked and wired open in a not so easy to see spot, causing the lever to be further up, would this change the tps readings?

The lever changes the throttle position so it would affect the TPS position.

depends, the OMP rod is actually on a step, so it will follow the throttle movement from the throttle body but the throttle body won't always follow a bound up oil metering pump rod position. depends how cockeyed it is or how rusty at the throttle body mechanism it is.

Well, considering that there's a piece missing from it and that it's leaking, I think I'll order another one and see what happens

So from what I've read I think my issue is a simple adjustment, but it seems to be a bit inconclusive, so here's my situation, tell me if this sounds like it could be something else. I've noticed the idle varies a lot, sometimes at close to 300-400 or sometimes up to 1500. It should also be noted that I have an automatic model. Sometimes on a hot/warm start I'll have issues with the car seeming to stall as soon as it turns on. I also have has issues when going from park to drive/reverse with it stalling. It also can shake a good bit when it goes in either for a moment. When driving it seems to shift fine, but since my FC is the only one I've ever rode in, it could be hesitating without me realizing (it kinda feels slow but I always assumed that was just 90s automatic tech being slow). I was going to adjust the TPS when I get the chance and I'll update if that solves my issue but in the meantime, I'd appreciate any advice as to what the issue could be if not the TPS. Thanks again!

Hey Aaron im sorta new to the RX7. And I need to adjust the TPS on a 1988 SE Model. Do you have any photos to possibly help me sorta visualize what i need to be looking for and at?
