TPS adjust problems

hi, i'm trying to adjust my tps acording to FC3Spro. my problem is that i have the adjustment screw in as far as it will go and it sits at about 2.7kohm (trying to set idle) the tps moves smoothly (resistance) and maxes at 5.7kohms and will go down to below 1kohm if pushed in farther. how can i adjust this or is my TPS junk? also my throtte linkages dont seem to be hitting the stoppers on the trottle body and stoping when the throttle plates hit the inside of the bore of the throttle body, normal?

thanks.

PS: i have a short day of work tomarow, so ill have pictures up.

Don't try to set it by resistance. The "closed" value won't be equal to the value that you see when the throttle plates are closed. The plunger will still be extended slightly.

You didn't mention what year your car is, and your profile has no info, so I'm going to give you S4 info. Set the TPS at 1.0 V by measuring voltage at the top wire/contact. Make sure the engine is warmed up and the thermowax cam has fully released.

The throttle plates should hit the stoppers, but only when the thermowax is heated up.

IMO measuring by ohms is better to test whether you have a junk sensor or not, not necessarily to set it

sorry, its a 87 turbo.

thermowax has been removed along with all the rats nest (really the only thing left is the bac), i'm trying to get it adjusted because the car wont idle.

also when i took the bac off to clean it, i found a solid gaskit behind it, but it was layerd over the one mazdatrix shows. i removed the thermowax but did not remove the secondary throttle plates, do i need a block off plate to seal where the rod rotates in the TB to prevent a vac leack?

search "pressure test" or "boost leak test" on how to check your air system for any leaks
