I'm looking at getting a 2nd gan car to add to my '81. I found an '88 and took it to my mechanic to have it checked out. I mentioned to him that I was going to install a hitch and use it to haul my dirt bikes, and he told me not to, that RX-7's "don't last long when you start towing with them". Is this just another wives tale, or is there truth to this. All I'm going to tow with it is maybe 800#'s , thats 2 bike and trailer.

 

Look in the manual, if you have one.

There are standards and specifications for this stuff. You cant just listen to anyones word of advice.

 

My friend's 'vert has a tow hitch on it.

But yeah, that stuff is in the manual.
