Total Rookie Question - Please help clarify

Hello everyone and thank you for such an awesome community. I have learned a lot out here and thank all of you.

As you will see, I am a rookie out here. I think this will be my 3rd post.

My question/request is for someone to please tell me what all the FC, S4, S5, FC3S, FC3C, etc etc stand for and what are the differences between the cars

I have a 91 Convertible with the raised Mazda logo on the front of the car. From what I have been able to figure out, does this mean I have an F5 and if so what does F5 mean.

Please excuse the rookie questions.......

I am pretty good with audio and mechanical stuff, but I have no idea if these are acronyms or what. Please help if you can.

FB=1st generation cars, 1979-1985. FC=2nd gen, 1986-1991. FD=3rd gen cars, to 1995. S4='86-'88, S5='89='91.

you have an S5 (series5), FC3C

the letters FC are in the chassis code on the 2nd generation rx7's and an FC3C is a convertible

you can also read the faq for fc sticky at the top it will help with al the abeveations we use hear
