Thats a good idea. I'm sorry your out of work, so am I but I have the pleasure of living at home since I am only 17. It sux not having a job. I haven't done anything in about 7 months. NOBODY will hire around here. Not even for minimum wage man. Sorry about the out burst ted. I was having a real bad day man. I took out one of my spark plugs to see what it looked like and it was b-l-a-c-k black man, talk about carbon build up. But that wasn't what surprised me. The spark plugs don't have the peice for the gap. I guess they are gapless spark plugs. Are these O.K.? They are the right size and everything but should they be used or should I get different plugs? I cleaned them up and everything I was just wondering if I should still use these.

Dude, I think the whole country is in bad shape right now.&nbsp If you're doing "OK", you're actually the minority right now.&nbsp I understand we all have our bad days, but I think we all (including me) need to take a breather and relax for a bit...

As for the spark plug question - the recommended plugs are NGK BUR7EQ and BUR9EQ's...

It would seem only intelligent for Ted's site to a part of THIS site. That way he can save the $30 and the info is right where everyone can see it.

Ted: What did you do before? From what you've said before you must have a decent amount of programming knowledge. Picking up a lousy programming job hopefully shouldn't be too hard. (to feed yourself until you get what you're looking for) Also, I can't imagine the forum wouldn't cut you some slack posting some ads. I think you deserve it by now.

It's been rough for a lot of industries and areas, but the economy is turning around, 'specially up here. To keep the momentum going, write your senator and tell them you want to buy Canadian lumber, so we don't turn the lights off on you...last summer we sold you guys juice at $500/kWh. We pay <$0.10/kWh.

Yup those are the ones. I cleaned them and tested them and they spark nice. When I took them out the ones on the front rotor were wet on the part that sparks. This can't be good. Well I put them back in and I can still smell the gas in the exaust. It went back to the almost no idle deal just before I took them out. If you look at your tach and see the first mark on it approximately 2 1/8 inch from the 0 mark that is where it fell and sat to idle. WTF!!! How do I fix it?

I'm an IBM mainframe computer operator by trade.&nbsp I can also do Tier 1 help desk support for Windows and UNIX servers.&nbsp No degree means a lot right now with the tough economy.&nbsp This is by no means my career - I'll hopefully go back to school Spring 2003 and getting on track to my BSEE very soon (before I'm 40 I hope!).

Vegas does not have a very big computer industry - this is one of the disadvantages.&nbsp I do nationwide searches for "MVS computer operator", and they usually turn up on the major cities on the west coast and TX.&nbsp Im seriously thinking of relocating soon...

Sorry to go into the long diatribe about my work situation folks...

Well ted if you move to Texas move to Austin, Tx. thats where I live and its great here. No we don't ride horeses to school or dress like cowboys so don't ask. EVERYONE asks that. I don't know why. We have the famous 6th street and we are the live music capitol of the world! The night life is great and if you like sreet racing me and my friends can show you all the great places to hang out. Any ways back to business. I reset my ECU to see if the idle will come back up and nothing. The same gas smell, and shut off at the start unless I hold the gas after the start. Any suggestions?

peacekeeper -- FYI: My 7 mechanic strongly discourages wire brushing plugs (hope this isn't how you cleaned them off.) You can **** up the insides doing that. Just wipe them off with a rag and throw them back in.

Have you considered pulling your injectors and having them cleaned and balanced? Clearly, too much fuel is getting dumped into the engine. They could be the culprits.

Also, have you ever had your ECU checked for cold/broken solder points or failed/smoked components? Our 7s are notorious for poor electrical assembly. Might be worth a look...

RETed, I'm honestly shocked to hear that you're in IT and have been unemployed for a year. I don't know much about what the scene is in Vegas (other than 'brightly lit') but that sounds fucked. Things are just rocking right along here in Ontario. I'd suggest moving here, but there's that whole $ thing, ne?

If you're looking for quick, tax free $, you could try delivering pizza. Turnover for drivers is fairly high - for instance, I've been at one store up here for almost 8 weeks and they've already canned two guys (one blew up on a manager and the other was just a nutcase.) You'll want to find a store that has contract drivers. You'll be paid per delivery, in cash, at the end of every shift. Reporting this income is entirely up to you...

Delivering pizza has kept gas in my tank and food on the table while I've been waiting for paving to start (7am this Monday morning - first I lay the asphalt, then I tear it up in my 7.)
