it kinda seems like it would be a pain in the *** to run premix. what would you do just carry oil around and add it to your gas tank when your getting gas??? cause that would suck to mix it in a gas tank and then have to put it in your car?

yup just keep the oil in your trunk or behind the seats and add everytime you get gas.

PLEASE do a search for premix. This subject has been talked about for the last 15 years...

So may options, brands, and opinions on this subject.

Hello,

sorry for bringing this thread back to life, but i would not want to open a new one for the (i think) same prob.

My car:
1986 RX7 GXL NA bone stock.
Using premix 400ml per full tank.
134000 kms, 1st engine.

Well this is what happened:
I was driving to work, 500 meters before arrival the rpms startet to drop rapidly shaking the entire car a bit and then the engine stalled.
Even putting in neutral and flooring the pedal did not stop the rpms to their way down to 0.
I was in 4 rd and about 3000 rpm before this happened.

My first thought was that I had lost an Apex seal or two, but the car startet fine right after.
I drove it home the same day without problem and 2 days later it is still running fine.
I just have to turn the key for max 2 seconds and the engine runs.

I have no idea what was happening that day.
Plugs were changed last month to the correct NGKs.
Alt was changed last week, and voltage output/and wiring is correct.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steven

Thank you,

Ok I will check the error codes.
Found an description on how to build the "reading device" by teamfc3s.org
here the link: http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/article...odes/main.html

Sounds like childsplay to me.

I will report back when I am done.

Back from error reading.

Result: No errors recorded

LEDs are on for about 3 seconds and then dark, according to teamfc3s this means no error.

I will keep the reader in the car just in case I need to check the codes one day ...

Any Idea on the cause of my problem described above ?
Although the car runs fine now, i want to know why this could happen.
Perhaps it indicates another problem.

Thanks
Steven
