BTW sorry I nevr replied to your email about the mirrors/taillights. I lost the email/got it deleted. I have a spare set of basemodel power mirrors if youre interested. What about the taillight payment?

ohh that rotor and housing is bad..Sorry to hear about your motor.. The Jspec that i took apart was worst though..

 

 

yeah, i'm hoping that I dont see any more damage like that for a long time... The rotor looked pretty much identical on all 3 apex's...BTW what do you guys think of my TID??

yup, and it's just about to go in...Other than the rear housing/rotor everything is good. That was the result of 16psi with stock injectors (not on purpose). wasn't even a cold day. I ran the same setup with absolutley np problems for about 4 months at about 11psi then BAM 16psi and bye bye motor.

 

hey dcamco did your new engine come with the turbo and all the other goodies??? if so would you be willing to sell the old engine to me with the turbo ofcourse

OUCH. That is some hairy damage you got there!!! Well, good luck w/ the new engine!! How the hell did you get such a bad boost spike?

 

PR--I dont have a new turbo yet, but I plan to pick up an s5 one soon--I'll let ya know when I get it, I have no idea how much that motor is worth--email me an offer dcamco@houston.rr.com . I think I'm gonna have Gabriel come help me finish soon, I talked to him at the last meeting-he seems like a cool guy, where were you at man?

I was having boost issues:
11 in 1st
11 in 2nd
7 in 3rd
I tightened up all the hoses and made sure all the vac lines were on good. Test drive revealed that perhaps my boost was leaking even before i noticed it. Either way I destroyed a low mileage motor (67002), and that was 6 months ago. Now things are coming together to get her running again, I am soo excited.

 

iwas going to try to go but my sons bday was the day after that i got off work about 6:30 and we still had to take care of some stuff the the birth day . by the time we were done it was about 8:30 i thought you guys had left by then

did you hear about the black fd that fliped over on the belt doing a uturn??? it was a girl driving it from what i was told ... did it belong to anyone from the houston rx7 club??? i hope not

 

Looks like mine except far less damage, and far more carbon buildup. My rotors and housings were very clean despite being marred and gouged.
