Top vac nipple on back of T2 UIM...

I hooked my FPR up to the top vac nipple (of the three) at the back of my uim and got no vac out of it... NONE.... I checked it with the car running with a vac gauge..

It DID give boost because the fuel pressure gauge showed the pressure rising as boost kicked in.. but it stayed at static when the car was at vac

it really messed up my crusing fuel economy...

Anyway... I put it back in line with the boost gauge, which is hooked to the bottom vac nipple on the back and it went back to working normally..

However, I would like to give each thing its own vac line...

Question is... i didn't see anything in that vac hole when i had the manifold off... but... it SHOULD be showing vac from the top nipple on the back right??? So SOMETHING has to be plugged up in there... RIGHT??

Only one of the four nipples is a vacuum source. The bottom one.

Yea use the nipple on the inside of the LIM that is angled towards the firewall for your FPR. The top nipple on the back of the UIM is a fresh air source for the injector air bleeds I believe.

Are you looking to find individual vac/boost sources for each gauge/sensor/etc?

If you have the rats nest removed you will have a few more options without having to use as many tees. Here's all the sources that read vac and boost that I can think of off the top of my head: side of LIM next to BAC, top and bottom nipples on the front of the UIM (middle only reads vac IIRC), bottom on the back of the UIM (others are for OMP and injector air bleeds, angled nipple on the inside of the LIM (will be occupied by FPR). Hope that helps if that's what you were asking.

Yep, that answers my question...

And DAMMIT... I gunked that nipple on the inside of the LIM up with JB Weld when I did the haltech conversion!!!!!!!!!

I Used to have the BOV and the Boost Controller run off the nipple on the outside of the UIM by the BAC, The MAP, FPR and Boost gauge off the lower front... BUT... DR Dave at KDR scolded me (through ZKeller) that the MAP needs its own signal and shouldn't be plumbed with anything else...

OH well... After years of dicking with these motors... I'm still learning something new all the time... I guess I'll keep the FPR and the Boost Gauge on the line off the bottom of the rear of the LIM and put a cap back on the top one!!

Thanks!!!

anyone have pics of any of these vac/boost sources? im putting my car back together from the haltech and t70 install.... i need to run a line to the fpr, boost gauge, map, boost controller, and bov....

thats 6 things... how many of them can share a source? and where is that source? I blocked everything off with a set of plates i got. I only know of the one source by the bac(where it used to be).

any pics of the sources would help tons... thanks. pics is worth 1000 words ya know.

I think I described all the vac/boost sources and exact locations very accurately above in my post. For the boost controller and wg just tee off of the compressor housing.

FPR... Nipple on middle-inside of LIM that sticks out at an angle (stock Location)
MAP..... Lower front on UIM (Hitman says it has the cleanest signal)

The others can be any of the following..

Lower on Rear of UIM (I have Boost Gauge Here)
Top on Front of UIM (I have FPR here cause my dumb *** blocked off the FPR nipple on back of LIM)
One by BAC (I have BOV & Boost Controller here)

PS.. you only listed FIVE items.. there's five places

ill look at it again but im pretty sure i blocked off he stock fpr location... thats why i wanted a pics to be sure. i might have to hook up my fpr where you did... top front.

my t70 dosent have a vac line hook up on the housing.

im guessing the top front and back ones on the uim are the ones right by the TB joint? if so cool deal...

Drill and tap into your compressor housing. That's what I'd do.

For the front of the UIM you can use the top and bottom nipples. There are 3 but the middle one only reads vac. Right behind the alternator.

On the back of the UIM the most bottom one can be used. All the other ones are injector air bleeds and OMP spider.

If you have your ACV blocked off you can drill and tap to put a fitting on the block off plate. Search for a post by Hailers I believe.

Yea you can but I think it's much more accurate if you get a direct reading from the compressor housing.
