Too much drivetrain slack

I have an 87 tiurboII & it has a lot of drive train slack, to the point where it is quite "jerky" at low speeds in traffic.
Nothing is apparent, & there are no noises, etc out of the ujoints. The diff bushing also appears to be good.
Any thought on what it might be?
TIA
Stew
PS
I tried to find something in the archives, with no luck.

Probably the TPS. Do a search on "tps adjust".

Yea, they seem to be that way below about 2k RPM.

If your TPS is misadjusted, it's MUCH worse, because the ECU keeps switching between "load" and "idle" at low throttle settings. I was adjusting my TPS yesterday, had it a bit off, and WOW... jerk-o-matic. I fixed it, and it's much better. It's still there, but it's not horrible.

The trick that I've found is to just be very gentle on the throttle. It's possible to drive it at low RPMs, but it takes a good deal of finesse. I suggest driving in rush hour traffic for a while. If you do it right, you can creep down the highway idling in 3rd or 4th gear.

Push in clutch

Seriously, your suppose to push in the clutch below 1500 rpms or so. You can decel to 1500 rpms, but push in the clutch before accelerating.

your engine mounts are probably junk.
You can make them nice and solid with a chunk of 2x4..

I've got brand new engine mounts, and it bucked around badly with the TPS misadjusted.
