too much coolant?

is there such a thing as too much coolant in one of these? I have a s4 TII and I just got it back together and i ran it to the closest town of some size (20min) and ran it around and it got fairly hot (1/2 the temp gauge). It is fairly hummed were I live and yesterday I check the coolant (has not been run sence today) so the coolant was in no way more then the ambent air temp. and when i pulled the bleeder valve and coolant gushed out. So I screwed the bleeder plug back into the rad and left it. is this a posible coolant over fill?

No, you can't over fill the coolant with the bleed plugs removed.

But remember the bleeder valve on the radiator is lower than the highest point in the cooling system. The highest point is at the thermostat and thermostat housing. Any coolant at that level would drain down when you removed the radiators bleeder plug.
