too much coolant?

so I was low on coolant and I filled it up. However, I wasn't till too late that I noticed the "FULL" line, and I had already filled up a fair amount above it. It says in the FSM that the level should be somewhere in between LOW and FULL, and that having a little over FULL is ok, but I have it quite a bit over.

I don't see that being a problem, it wouldn't use any more coolant just cause it has more, right? So are there any harmful effects by having too much coolant in there? And why is the overfill resevoir have so much more space than necessary seeing as the FULL line is way near the bottom of the resevoir?

Liquid expands when it gets hot.

Nothing really bad about overfilling... but when the fluid in the radiator expands into the chamber (pushes past the cap pressure) it will overflow.

None at all. If you fill it to the very top and go for a drive, the coolant in the engine and radiator will expand into the overflow reservoir and the excess will be pushed out the little overflow hose on the reservoir's filler cap. You'll still end up well above the FULL line.

Good question, I have no idea. I usually ovefill mine just because I figure having more in there is a bigger safety buffer if the engine starts using coolant. But mine doesn't, so the level just sits there a couple of inches above the FULL line.
