Major problem. I don't want to get pulled over for a gross polluter or endangering other motorists. My 87 Turbo II pours out a TON of smoke, sometimes it's brown, when I coast to a stop or let off the gas. It's horrible. What could it be? It just started doing this and I have no idea what to do.
this happened to me just recently, i did the rats nest removal and took off the PCV valve and i did not have a oil catch can for the excess oil and pressure to vent into from the block to the oil filler neck, and it was creating alot of pressure in the crake case and making my car smoke like crazy at idle too.

PCV problems that cause buildup of pressure in the "crankcase" can kill your turbo bearings and seals in short order, as the oil drain line from the turbo is gravity fed. If you have pressure in there it can prevent proper drainage. Get a catch can, you won't be sorry. If you take the thing to race track events, I highly recommend the RB oil pan baffle as well. Before I got it I would find oil all over the driver's side of my engine compartment after a hard run at VIR (mostly right turns) after getting it and a catch bottle, it's bone dry in there.

Where's the PVC valve?
If it doesnt do it under boost, but starts after you coast to a stop, it really sounds like the turbine seal is on its way out. Ive seen one go firsthand and the symptoms were heavy smoke on decel, but no real smoke while cruising or boosting.

Here is the picture. My car had the pressure cap on the bottom left (item K), and there was no where in the system to release the coolant into the overflow bottle.
Cool! I'll check into that asap tommorrow. Also, tonight my car boosted to like 18psi, when I had the manlal boost controlled set @ 10psi. It was WAY fast. But can't be good. Also, I hope this helps, my car burns oil and goes through antifreeze like madd.
I was jsut thinking. I changed the oil a few weeks ago and it still looks golden. Not brown or even the least bit blackened. Is that a sign of a good rebuild and not foreign crap in my oil (antifreeze)?
18PSI? That will toast your turbine seals in short order. The turbo is also way outside its efficiency range at that point, so it's making lots of hot air, which isn't particularly good for the engine.
