MB Tonneau cover studs-88 vert

I'm missing some of these male studs which screw into the hood base for the tonneau cover female lift-the-centre attachments. Does anyone have these, or can give me a source?

I buy mine from ebay. $40 a set. If you want one new from the dealer its about the same price. I still havent found a source that uses the same size metric studs as ours. Your best bet for just one is the junk yard. GL

The link above ^ the photo shows the wrong tenex (thats the name of them) fastener. I've been looking for a while and all the ones I find are like the ones in the photo. Our cars use a metric bolt style stud, where as all the others seem to be more "screw" type threads. Off the top of myt head i think they are m6x.8 threads.

Unless my dealership is very crazy with prices it was about 40 a fastener. Put a WTB ad out and someone should have a set or few..

Didnt know that, never took one out. Sad thing is, i own a vert; would have got screwed!

How about these, wonder what the threads are. For an MG Midget.

Thanks guys, there ia a parts S4 vert in Winnipeg, I'll see the owner and hopefully buy a couple.
The MG Midget has a "lift the dot" fastener with a bigger diameter, ours seem unique.

Dealer ship IS crazy but that IS the price for one tenax. Mine told me $45each. I think the flat ones where $40 i don't remember about the two peice ones. Considering that MG and/or Porche tenax cost like $3 this is nuts, but thats the dealers.
Anyway the reason i know so damn much about them is i just sandblasted and coated a full ebay set for mine. I coated them with a firearm coteing (coating?)that is extreemly durable. I'm hoping that it will handel the on/off ware from the cover. Plus no more rust I really hate rust.

I've looked for a while before i decied to recote them and as far as i can tell even miata fasteners are different. However you can get the chrome top snaps replaced on the boot.
