Tokico shock difference Illumina/HP

Is there any other difference besides the external adjustability of the illumina shocks versus the non-adjustability of the HP shocks? Meaning, besides external adjustablility is there anything that the illumina series has over the HP series?
For the average person are the illuminas something you would want or would you just want to go with the HPs? I don't think I would have any idea on how to adjust the illuminas to optimal settings.

From what I've heard, the max settings on the Illumina are somewhat stiffer than the HPs...

So if you've got high spring-rate springs (ie, RS-R race springs), I'd go with the Illuminas.

I have RS*R race springs and Tokico HP's and the ride is very nice. Stiff but not bouncy.

How long have you been running on 'em? I (of course) want this setup because it's so damn cheap--but I've been wary because I heard that the RSR's might be so stiff, that they'd blow the HP's...

How's the camber?

I would say a good six months now. The camber isn't too horrible, but I do need to get an alignment. I have had my rear tires on for about 4 or 5 months and there not showing more wear on the inside than the out.

I've got Eibach springs with HP's and the ride is great: stiffer than stock (MUCH better handling) but still livable on the street with 50 series tires. The illuminas allow you one more tool for dialing out understeer if you want a totally balanced car. I simply kept my base model front anti-sway bar and installed a GXL/TII rear bar to get rid of the factory understeer. Now with the V8, my staggered tires should help the newfound oversteering tendency the car will have on corner exit when rolling on the gas and absorbing 300+ ft.lbs of American Torque.

Go with the HP's you'll love them.

I've got them up front and it's great.

Adjustables are only for track cars and serious weekend racers.

When I had Tokico adjustables I adjusted them like 3 or 4 times. More of a bragging factor than real life use.
