Tokico and Koni Suspension

I have a 1986 rx7 gxl and the struts are shot and was wondering which between the two brands are the best, the Koni struts are adjustable so i could lower the car a bit if i wanted too unlike the tokico. Any opinions would be great

Thanks
Chris

Taken right off the rx7.net site.

KONI has a long-standing reputation in racing circles as a manufacturer of high performance, top quality shocks and struts. KONI uses superior materials in the manufacture of their components to ensure significantly improved handling and excellent durability.

These shocks feature an adjustable 3-position spring seat - vehicle can be lowered 10mm Front, 15mm Rear.br>

I dont plan on lowering my car any time soon, the way it sits is perfect.

I have the adjustible tokicos (tokico illumina) and they seem to be great, although from most of what i've read, koni makes the better, more consistent shock. However, unless you are intimately familiar with your car on a track, chances are that you really wont notice the difference, especially when compared to old or blown shocks.

If you don't need to have a fancy **** on your dampers, Bilstein makes great stuff.

in the racing realm of awsome nice stuff, tokico can be concidered garbage.

koni, and bilstein make great stuff, and the price reflects in that!

I would choose my Tokico HTS601R over a Koni anyday

Tokico HTS's are adjustable in tiny incriments for any spring rate from 4 - 15kg/mm,more then enough for any road car. They are exceptionally well made too with a very good service life.

Being a japanese shock they are more suited to drift/grip driving in their valve rates (on smooth roads that is) then the slower reacting koni shocks are.

OWNED

Found on another forum:

"Tokico HTS's are adjustable in tiny incriments for any spring rate from 4 - 15kg/mm,more then enough for any road car thats for sure, They are exceptionally well made too with a very good service life. Being a japanese shock they are more suited to drift/grip driving in their valve rates (on smooth roads that is) then the slower reacting koni shocks are."

You couldn't even correct the grammatical errors?

Lets try and use actual facts rather than repeating someone else's opinion...

No. Thats my opinion 2. I own the shock.

I couldn't haven't said what he said any better.

And that is a fact. They are adjustable in tiny increments and the HTSs are a japanese shock. They dont sell them here in the states

Are you really comparing a tokico shock to a koni?
