Tokico front shocks and Tanabe 1.5 drop tanabe springs! Help!

1988 mazda rx 7 turbo 2!

So i have the rear set on now and it fit fine. When i put the front set of springs

and shocks the car did not drop at all. In fact' the spring seems to overlap above

the tire maybe a inch or .5 of an inch or maybe more. I'm thinking i put them on

the wrong side cause that set up probly is not going to work considering the risk

of the tire rubbing on the spring. 'So' picture the spring in between the tire and

the top shroud that is above the tire. It would be dangerous to ride like that. Are

the front springs individually made for each side? If that is the case then i

put the springs on the wrong sides. Well the bottom diameter of the spring is on

the bottom of the shock. The big diameter of the spring is on top of

the shock which connects to the body chassis. Has anyone ever encountered this

problem and if so what can i do to fix it. I did check the box to make sure that the

springs are for this car.(1986-1992 fc3s).1992? I dont think so)1992 body style

changes. Anyways so im going to get back in there today and check it out. If

anyone knows what i did wrong then please hit me up private message or just

respond to this thread. Help! whats up with the tanabe springs?

I have KYB AGX and Tanabe GF210 springs, I didnt encounter any problems with the springs, the rears can go on any side, the front struts are left or right specific, the front springs I cant remember but I think they are too, the directions in the box clearly state how they should go though the the words on the spring should be right side up meaning you install them the way you read the words tanabe on them, mine lowered the car all the way around, I love these springs

I don't think they are left or right specific?
Just make sure the bottoms of the springs are set in the "notch" in the shock perch?

I have Tokico Illuminias on Tanabe GF's... I use to have blues (never put them on the car but test fitted the springs on them) and they fit the same as the illumnias... I dont rememebr if the the springs are specific for R and L, but as long as the end of the spring was locked onto the shock it should be fine. (might be confusing...i mean when the end of the spring touches the stopper thingy on tha shock and locks in when the spring is installed...i think basically what RETed said)

The springs didnt drop the fron as much as i though...since my stock shocks were pretty much blown, but it lowered the rear a lot...

Were the springs u bought specified for the 2nd gen rx7?

Try making sure the bolt on top is bolted on all the way in compressing the spring about 2 inches?

iono...not an expert...all i can really say is good luck

I think you would have to go back to 2009 and wake the guy up.

That was the last time that he posted on Forum..
(try to look at the post dates so you do not revive OLD dormant threads please.)
