I recently bought a set of tokico blues non-adjustable from a junk yard for $100 including the stock springs. I installed it in my 86 base model and noticed that these shocks/struts are so stiff but handles great. My car is not lowered at all but it is too bouncy.

Is this normal or are they designed to be used with aftermarket springs?

 

Too bouncy??? Or do you mean you feels the bumps more? Too bouncy and good handling don't go together.

Good shocks will make the ride a lot rougher since they work at keeping the tires in contact with the road. The tokico work fine with the stock springs.

I suspect you are feeling the road more which is exactly what you want in a sports car.

 

no they shouldnt be bouncy
they should be stiff

 

i meant to say too stiff as I can feel more bumps now but for cornering, it handles better than the old kyb's.

 

yea most likely youll feel the bumps more because of the stiffness

 

I had blues back in the day on my GXL, I didn't think they were stiff at all, pretty stock like infact.. regretted buying them from the start..
