1st question has anyone here ever put a nitrous setup onto there tmic for cooling...

and 2nd I think someone should make a archived thread on the installation process for a fmic...

An unflavored snowcone works nicely.

I saw someone do that a couple of days ago, on Street Tuner Challenge on Speed TV. They're still working on that build, so I dont know how well it worked out.

By nitrous setup, I'm presuming you mean an N-tercooler or C02 cooler.

Its possible someone's used it on a top mount, and I'm sure it would help. If you've ever seen a Cry02 system in action, you'd know those tubes get damn near freezing.......

However, its not extremely practical to run around all day, every day, with a pressurized tubing system cooling the stock interheater.

You'd be further ahead to convert the stock TMIC into a water to air arrangment. However, thats still quite a bit of work.

As far as an archived thread about FMIC's, theres enough floating around showing pics of setups that you should be able to figure it out. The only "instructions" to follow would be included with a Greddy kit If you don't have a Greddy kit, then you simply go about it however you please. Design it to your liking, its not rocket science.

nothing that replaces the item on top of the 180 degree engine with an item thats placed ontop of the 180 degree engine is an "upgrade"

For the most part anyways.

The biggest part of the "upgrade" comes from moving it away from the boiler under the hood.

just do a FMIC... i swapped out my TMIC for a FMIC and i have the exact same boost response. don't get a massive intercooler though.

also, it's not just the heatsoak that makes the stock TMIC suck... it's very restrictive as well.

Nitrous-oxide to cool an intercooler... why not just use any expanding gas? Such as CO2? nitrous is had to come by around here... but argon carbon dioxide etc are easy... just keep a paintball 20oz bottle in your car with a boost activated switch... heck, Wal-Mart even sells prefilled 9oz tanks...

I’d think CO2 would be the safer idea... nitrous is a catalyst like oxygen... why put that into a hot engine bay?

You'll be disappointed when you see the final episode. Every car breaks on the track. The VW is a joke, the Skyline breaks, and the Cobalt almost survives.

Hahaha... I got the impression that the VW was never going to turn into anything. While everyone else was working on going fast, they were figuring out what tailights to use.... WTF?

I was hoping that Skyline would've turned out, but that team was REALLY chewing off alot. Can't wait to see it..
