Wheel diameter is not relevant to your question, rim width is.
So, what are your wheel specs?

on the stock 16x7 wheel i would recommend 225/45/16 for a wider tire than stock. a 255/50 is much taller and wider than intended for the wheel and will affect gear ratios as well as handling.

Go with 225/45, on your 7" wide rim, 245 or 255 are both wider than recommended (so most shops won't want to mount them), and the tire will be so pulled in on the rim you won't be putting much, if any more rubber to the road than the 225's anyway, but you will have a really tall tire with lousy gearing, as Ktune said.

You may get lots of tire roll by going with a 245 or 255 as compared to a 205 or 225. I would love to see pics of your 245 on a stock TII wheel though.

Too beefy.

Its a shame they stopped making 245/45/16's I just put some on my FD wheels, but they would work on 7" as well. For my 16x7's I'll run 225/45 at least in the rear, maybe 215/45 front depending on actual width (as all 225's are NOT created equal)
