TIRES (need some opinions)

Ok, so i am running FD wheels. The rear tires are the infamous michelin pilot sport cups. They are 245/45/16 these tires go for about 250 each on tire rack. These tires rock!!! Anyones up front i have toyo proxes Z1 tires (old models) and the front size are 225/50/16. I am looking to replace these soon as they will need it. I dont wanna spend 250 a tire. I do like these tires but little pricey. Anyways here are my options

Hankook Ventus R-S2
Continental ContiSportContact
Fuzion ZRi
Sumitomo HTR Z
(not limited to these but this is what tirerack sells)

Those are the tires i can get match for a pair of 245/45/16 and 225/50/16 i would like to stay with that. I would also like to stay with the same brand and make of tire on all four wheels. Unless someone with good imput for front and rear tires. So far i am leaning on the Hankook R-S2 and the Fuzion. What would you reccomend. Also please speak from experience on a tire not well i heard these tires can, ect....

Thanks guys

Anything but the RS-2s are gonna seem VERY disappointing compared to the sport cups. The rest of that list is freaking junk. I don't really see the point to running the stagger, so you may as well look at 225/50s all around, which broadens your search a bit. There might still be some Bridgestone RE-01s left on clearance on Tire Rack in that size. Also check out the Falken Azenis RT615 and maybe the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec or the Kuhmo XS. Any of the tires I listed here will be much closer to the Sport Cup's performance.

Depending on what kind of power you are putting down, I can see the wider tire on the rear. The 225/50/16's will light up pretty quick on the rear if you have the power to do it. I work at a Tirecraft dealer here in Canada so I've seen pretty much all of these tires. The Sumitomo's are a good cheap tire if you're working on a budget. My friend runs them on his 270hp TII and he loves them. I also know of a few people here that run them on their race cars at the track. The Hankook's would also be a good choice. Hankook always makes a good product so i doubt they would dissapoint.

I may just get those RE-01s i wanted to run a stagger but those prices are awesome. Only down fall is they are in nevada only and its 100 to ship to me. Still a good deal. I am running pretty much stock power NA other then a 12 pound flywheel and racingbeat true dual. When the pilot cups are warmed up i cannot break them lose. The only thing i am worried about is the side wall flex. The cups have very little flex and i love it!!

I hope you like understeer, since you'll be running that stagger. A stagger is only useful to prevent lighting up tires. With an NA, you can just use the throttle to do that.

thats the thing. its not going to be NA forever

But i get where your coming from. Also I will be running about 23mm spacers soon so i didnt want some skinny tire looking deal going on at that amount of offset. We will see. My tires have about a month or two left on them if i dont abuse them. Should get spacers soon maybe ill throw on the 225s on the rear to see how it stands. And also try and see how 245 will fit up front.

i have 205/55/16s all around mine and looks good. 245s will not fit up front. The 225s barely fit.
