tire sizing (225/45/17)

Alright, after searching the forum i have yet to find a true answer to this question Can i fet 225/45/17s without rolling the fenders? If so what offset should i use for a 17x8 wheel? is something on the order of 30-40 right for the offset?

thanks!

Uh, isn't 45 only a 4.5" wide tire?

45 is the aspect ratio in mm,

225 is width.

TII-Aholic has Mustang GT rims (17x8, 30-35mm offset [I cant remember]) with 275s out back. He said he didn't need to make a single modification to the car to get them to fit.

I think almost anyone you ask will tell you 225's aren't a problem at all and won't require rolling the fenders... but there are other things to take into consideration such as suspension upgrades that might skew that answer.

I have 225/45/17 front and didnt have to roll fenders, rears are 245/45/17 and still have good clearance. running Tien springs with a .08 drop. so I say you will be more than fine.

my car is LOW, but 225/45's fit fine, although with rolling the front fenders. Sure looks/drives great:

look ma, no rubbing!:
